This year in May, we went to Norway and Switzerland. It was
an official trip to Norway for my hubby, he went there for a conference and we
accompanied him. It was my wish to visit Switzerland so from Norway, we went
to Switzerland. It was 2 weeks trip. This blog is all about Norway – Oslo. In Norway, we went to the capital city - Oslo
and then to Bergen. We stayed at Thon Hotel in Oslo. On our first day in Oslo,
we went to explore the nearby places.
Bronze Statue of Tiger
In
the front of the Oslo Central Station, there is a big bronze statue of a tiger
and a play area nearby. After clicking
some pics there, we went to the harbour and from there, we could see the Oslo Opera
House.

not allowed.

Exploring the city, by
walking is altogether a different experience with the footpath so nice and
clean. The flower pots on the footpath added beauty to the roads.

After our visit to the palace, we went to the harbour and took a ferry
to Bygdoy. It is a peninsula situated on the western side of Oslo.

There are some museums in Bygdoy which are worth visiting. We went to Kon-Tiki Museum and Fram Museum.

After returning back to the harbour, we went to EKT Rideskole Husdyrpark. We took a bus ride from the Central Station and a short walk to reach this beautiful farm. My daughter enjoyed a lot there. The people working there were very friendly. Petting a rabbit, goat and horse was fun. There is also a nice park across the EKT.

Next day, We had our train to Bergen. The train ride from
Oslo to Bergen is breathtaking. Often described as Europe’s most beautiful
train journey, it takes you through some of Scandinavia’s beautiful landscape. We had booked a family coach and our coach
was quite empty. There was only one more family. They were also Indians. The
coach had a play area for kids and my daughter was sitting there, reading book,
and playing. It took around 7 hours to reach Bergen. I will write about Bergen
in my next blog.
